Health-promoting properties – what does propolis help with?

The composition of propolis is extremely complex – over 300 active substances have been identified in it, including flavonoids, polyphenols, phenolic acids, vitamins and minerals. Thanks to these, bee glue is valued for:

• High antibiotic activity: It shows strong antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal effects.
• Strengthening immunity and fighting inflammation: It helps in soothing inflammation, supports wound healing processes and comprehensively strengthens the human immune system.

How to prepare a tincture from raw bee glue?

Raw bee glue contains approx. 50% alcohol-soluble substances (resins). The rest consists of wax and natural particles (e.g. pieces of wood), which do not dissolve but are proof of artisanal harvesting. Note: Raw propolis is not suitable for direct consumption!

Recipe (for a 100g jar): Pour 100g of glue with 500 ml of 95% spirit and 140 ml of water. Leave in a sealed container for 14 days in a dark and cool place, shaking daily. After 2 weeks, filter the liquid through gauze. Dosage: Dissolve 1/2 teaspoon (approx. 20-25 drops) in a small amount of water (approx. 50 ml) and use up to 3 times a day. The tincture is best used within 12 months.
